Next Tuesday July 19th at half past seven in the evening, the artist Javier de Juan will be in our gallery talking about his fascinating career, his work and his peculiar vision of the world.
Javier de Juan (Linares 1958) is a chaser of ideas who uses drawing as the basis for his creations. His work ranges from large murals to interactive installations and animations. A member of the generation of Madrid artists of the eighties "Movida", he has given courses and lectures in institutions and universities.
Possessing a very personal and recognizable voice and a splendid mastery of drawing and colour, he became, during the prodigious decade of the eighties, one of the most present and active creators in the field of drawing and painting. He is a splendid drawer, with an innate ability to tell stories through images. His technique is fresh, agile, clear and simple. With few lines and graphics he is able to build scenes, situations, moments and, of course, evoke emotions. His characters are always recognizable and animated by a special liveliness, full of energy, movements and also a particular sensuality.
We are pleased to have in our gallery his most recent work, PAINTED SCRIPTURES, complemented with a series of installation drawings that the artist made on the walls of the gallery and that, due to their ephemeral character, are an essential visit this summer in Marbella.
