Millions of Nepalis are estimated to be at risk from the impacts of climate change, including reductions in agricultural production, food insecurity, scarcity of water resources, loss of forests and biodiversity, as well as damaged infrastructure.
In northern Nepal, near the border with India, pastoralist communities struggle to survive despite the lack of water. These women are among a group that has benefited from UN Women-funded programmes to promote women's empowerment through the provision of goats.
