Ethiopia
In Ethiopia pottery is traditionally made by women. Despite its commercial value, potters are seen almost as witches. They must work alone to avoid giving themselves the evil eye. They can make and sell utensils, but they cannot use them, if they use them they cannot be reused and must be destroyed.
They live on the outskirts and have no right to land. Many are crushed to death while digging for clay.
