Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
Lake Atitlan is used to tourists, mostly yogis or ravers, but relatively few children visit. My kids were local attraction. Three boys passed us by as if we weren’t even there. This was their turf. They joked and rough-tumbled –much like puppies, fully aware you were there, their sole spectator. They argued over who would jump first. Without saying a word you got up, walked right past them and jumped into the cold water under their quiet stare, only disturbed by the click of the camera which had caught them in this conundrum. Confidence and fire always burned within you, much like the volcano on the horizon.
