The Las Casas series was the artist's first foray into staged photography, from which she has not returned. "That photo is the first of the whole series and, therefore, of my personal work. I wanted to propose a fictional reconstruction (with a touch of poetic nostalgia) of the dwellings of Spain in the 60s and 70s. Throughout the series there is a visual homage to the decoration of that period in humble houses, but the settings were recreated with creative and very colourful lighting that added a surreal and fantastic note".
