Somalia - A mother awaits in a nutrition supplement center. If her child’s arm circumference is below the healthy level she will receive food to last the family a whole month.
Malnutrition persists in Somalia due to years of conflict, the collapse of basic social services and the erosion of resilience over time. Some fear sometimes one child -the weakest- is sacrificed in order to secure food for the rest of the family.
